Thundersticks Physio

We treat all kinds of sporting-related injuries:

  • knee injuries
  • muscle strains/”corked muscles”
  • shoulder injuries
  • tennis/golfers elbow
  • ankle injuries

Acute injuries (less than 72 hours) usually need the “RICE” principles applied:

  • Relative rest (some gentle movement is usually helpful if not painful),
  • Ice (applied for 15 to 20 minutes maximum to avoid further tissue damage),
  • compression (elastic bandage) and
  • elevation of the limb

Ultrasound, interferential therapy and massage can be started after the acute phase to help with healing and pain reduction. Your physiotherapist will assist in gradually increasing the amount and difficulty of exercises needed to return to your favorite sport after injury and can advise on when it might be suitable to restart.
